I initially assembled these images with the notion of Tokyo and Kyoto representing the yin and yang of urban sprawl and reflective sanctuary that exists throughout the world.

That was back in the early 2000’s.

As the world population grows, this divide is evaporating and places once thought of as city getaways are surrendering to development.
